How to redact a PDF online
- Open the PDF. Choose the document with the sensitive content.
- Draw redaction boxes. Pick Redact and drag over the text, numbers or pictures to remove.
- Download. Mingtrove removes the content under each box and checks the result. If a page can’t be redacted safely, it is flattened to an image so nothing leaks.

Frequently asked questions
Is the redacted text really gone, or just hidden?
Really gone. Mingtrove removes the text and images from the page’s content and checks every redacted page again before saving.
Can I still edit the rest of the page afterwards?
Yes. Unlike tools that turn the whole page into a picture, the text outside the boxes stays real, selectable text.
Why was my page turned into an image?
Some content, such as complex drawings crossing a box, can’t be cut precisely. Those pages are flattened instead, so nothing underneath can leak.
Does redaction remove hidden text and form data too?
Yes. Form fields, comments, hidden tagged text and page thumbnails under a box are removed as well.
